Thermal blanket characteristics
The thermal blanket is a non-woven agro-fabric composed of infinite microfilament thermally bonded and UV stabilized. Made of polypropylene, a fully biodegradable material, is light and resistant. Thanks to its porosity allows the passage of air and water.
The main advantage of the thermal blanket is that it helps to protect our crops against insects and low temperatures, because it increases the temperature between 3 or 4 grades.
The objective of the thermal blanket is stabilised its interior temperature and maintain an air chamber that reduce cold and hot fluctuations and above all, do not to expose plants to extreme temperatures.
It can be used either in greenhouses or outdoors. Moreover, it is especially recommended for species sensible to insects attack, or to harsh changeable temperatures and frost.
When we place it we have to consider the following aspects:– There always have to put it into the wind direction to ensure a better resistance; and leave both a lateral and superior space so plants can grow without problems.
– We should hold it so the wind cannot move it, as if this happens, our crops would be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
